Identify the seal by its base (outer / inner width of the part that sits in the door retainer) and its height (overall / to the side lip), plus the profile family – twin-lip U-base, multi-fin wide base or J / hook. Send those numbers, a photo of the cut end and the door sizes; seals are quoted by section and length, or as finished 3- and 4-sided frames.

Construction
Most reefer and container door seals have soft EPDM sealing lips co-extruded on a rigid PVC base. The PVC base is clamped in an aluminium or steel retainer; the EPDM lips stay flexible in the cold and press against the door frame.
Three profile families
| Family | Used on | Our standard range (base outer/inner × height overall/side) |
|---|---|---|
| Twin-lip U-base | Truck and container doors | 25/20 × 41/28 to 57/50 × 50/36 mm |
| Multi-fin wide base | Refrigerated and insulated bodies | 61.5/50 × 45/35 to 110/100 × 40/30 mm |
| J / hook type | Side doors and compartments | 24/20 × 30/20 to 39/35 × 44/19 mm |
The full list of 16 sections is on the truck door seal page and in the profile library.
3-sided and 4-sided gaskets
On double rear doors the left door usually has a 3-sided gasket (top, bottom and hinge side) and the right door a 4-sided gasket, so the doors seal against each other in the middle. Specify which you need and the door height and width.
Signs a seal needs replacing
- Frost or ice building up near the door
- Light visible round the closed door from inside
- Torn, flattened or hardened lips
- The refrigeration unit running longer than usual
Quick questions
Can you supply only the EPDM lip?
Seals are normally supplied as the complete co-extruded section so the base fits the existing retainer.
Need a seal for this?
Send your section, gap size or a photo of the old seal – Dora replies usually within 2 hours. Refrigerated truck door seals are available from 10 m.
