THE SHORT ANSWER
Wool pile (brush) seals are dense fibre tufts on a narrow backing strip that slide into the track of a sliding window or door. They keep out dust and draughts while still letting the sash slide. Order them by base width (to fit the groove) and pile height (to reach the opposite surface, usually 0.5–1 mm more than the gap); a centre fin improves draught and water resistance. We supply slide-in and self-adhesive versions from 10 m.

01How do I size a pile seal?
Measure the width of the groove it slides into (base width) and the distance to the surface it must touch (pile height). Choose a pile height about 0.5–1 mm more than the gap. See our pile height guide.
02What does the centre fin do?
A thin plastic fin inside the pile blocks air and water better than pile alone; finned pile is the usual choice for exterior sliding windows.
03Do you have self-adhesive brush seals?
Yes, for retrofitting doors and frames without a groove.
