PU foam weatherstrip is a soft polyurethane foam core, usually wrapped in a smooth PE film and sometimes fitted with a kerf fin for timber door frames. It compresses with very little force, so doors close easily, and it is economical. It suits interior doors, timber frames and low-cost retrofit kits; outdoors it ages faster than EPDM foam and loses recovery sooner (typical range about –30 °C to +80 °C).
