BUYER QUESTIONS
Sealing strip FAQ: MOQ, price, samples, tooling and shipping
Straight answers on minimum order, prices, tooling, samples, lead time, quality checks and who makes your seals.

01What do you need for a quotation?
Send a profile drawing or clear cross-section photo, key dimensions / gap size, material or performance requirement, estimated quantity, and packing / branding requirement.
02Can you match an existing seal?
Yes. Send a drawing, a photo of the old seal or a physical sample. We can match an existing profile or discuss developing a new one with our partner factory.
03Which materials and colours can I ask for?
EPDM (solid / sponge), PVC, TPE, silicone, PU-foam coated and EVA foam. Common EPDM foam colours are black, white, brown, grey and beige. Tell us your application so we can discuss the material.
04What is the minimum order quantity?
No minimum order – standard profiles from 10 m. Indicative FOB prices start from US$0.05/m for EPDM foam door & window seals and US$0.10/m for automotive seals; final price depends on section, material and quantity.
05How long do samples and production take?
Sampling takes 7–10 days. Mass production takes about 20 days per 40GP container.
06Is there a tooling fee, and can you offer private-label packing?
For custom profiles with a drawing or dimensions, tooling and samples are usually free – you only pay the courier. Very complex parts: sample fee on the first order, refunded on your repeat order. Packing options include roll, bobbin, jumbo roll, carton and private label.
07Are you a factory or a trading company?
We are an export supplier in Zhuhai. Production is done by our long-term partner extrusion factory in Hebei (since 2013, 20,000+ m², 8 production lines, 3,600 t a year). We manage your profile, sampling, inspection, packing and shipping.
08Can I visit the production site?
Yes, visits can be arranged with advance notice; we can also do a live video walk-through of the lines and your order.
09Which countries have you shipped to?
We have shipped to customers in Malaysia, New Zealand, Ukraine, Hungary, Austria, UAE, Thailand, Vietnam and the USA.
10How are seals packed?
100 m or 150 m per roll, usually 4 rolls per carton; custom packing and private-label cartons on request.
11How fast can you ship a small order?
Stock items ship within 7 days. Made-to-order profiles: sampling 7–10 days, production about 20 days per 40GP container.
12Which trade terms do you work with?
FOB, CIF, EXW and DDP.
13Which payment terms do you accept?
T/T is standard; tell us if you need other terms and we will confirm with the order.
14Do you have certificates or test reports?
Raw-material RoHS and REACH test reports are available on request. Tell us if your market needs a specific test and we will check what can be provided for your compound.
15How do you check quality?
Dimension spot checks against the drawing, hardness testing, visual inspection of surface and colour, and photos of loading for every container.
16How fast do you reply?
Usually within 2 hours on working days by email or WhatsApp.
01Which section do I need for my door gap?
Measure the gap with the door closed. As a starting point: I (9 × 2 mm) for 1–2 mm gaps, E (9 × 4) for 2–3.5 mm, P (9 × 5.5) for 3–5 mm and D (9 × 6 up to 21 × 15) for 3–12 mm. Choose a section about 20–40% taller than the gap so the foam is compressed but the door still closes easily.
02Is EPDM foam better than PU foam?
EPDM foam keeps its elasticity outdoors and handles UV, ozone and temperature changes better; PU foam with a PE film is softer, cheaper and common for interior doors and timber frames with a kerf groove. See our EPDM vs PU foam guide for a side-by-side table.
03Can you supply your own brand on the roll and carton?
Yes. Private-label cards, carton marks and roll lengths can be specified with your order.
04How much do door and window seals cost?
Indicative FOB prices start from US$0.05 per metre for standard EPDM foam profiles. Final price depends on section, material and quantity.
01Do you make seals for a specific car model?
We match sections from a drawing, a clear cross-section photo or a physical sample of the old seal. We do not use vehicle brand names or logos on our products.
02What is a pinch-weld seal?
It is a U-shaped channel that grips the folded sheet-metal flange (pinch weld) around a door or trunk opening, usually with a metal clip carrier inside and a sponge bulb on top or at the side that the door closes against.
03Which grip range do I need?
Measure the total thickness of the flange, including any paint or trim. Edge trim is specified by grip range, for example 1–2 mm or 2–4 mm. See our edge trim grip range guide.
04What is the minimum order?
There is no minimum – standard profiles from 10 m. Indicative FOB prices start from US$0.10 per metre.
TRUCK & CONTAINER

01How do I identify my truck door seal?
Measure the base (outer / inner width of the part that sits in the retainer) and the height (overall / to the side lip) of the old seal, and send a photo of its cross-section. Compare with the 16 sections on this page.
02What is the difference between a 3-sided and a 4-sided gasket?
On double rear doors the left door usually carries a 3-sided gasket (top, bottom and hinge side) and the right door a 4-sided gasket, so the two doors seal against each other in the middle.
03Can you make corners and frames?
Yes. We can supply coils, cut lengths or finished frames with corners made to your door size.
04How is the price calculated?
Truck seals are quoted by section and length because section weight varies a lot between sizes. Send the section and the door sizes for a quotation.
01How do I choose the grip range?
Measure the total thickness of the edge it will sit on. Pick a trim whose grip range covers that thickness in the middle of its range, not at the limit. See our edge trim grip range guide.
02PVC or EPDM edge trim?
PVC is economical and comes in many colours – good for cabinets, machinery guards and interiors. EPDM keeps its grip and shape outdoors under UV and ozone – choose it for vehicles, boats and enclosures outside.
03Do you sell edge trim with a bulb?
Yes – top-bulb and side-bulb versions seal doors and hatches as well as protecting the edge.
04What is the price?
Indicative FOB prices start from US$0.10 per metre; it depends on section, carrier and quantity.
BRUSH / PILE
Brush & wool pile seals
Have a section in mind?
Dora can help with your enquiry.
01How do I size a pile seal?
Measure the width of the groove it slides into (base width) and the distance to the surface it must touch (pile height). Choose a pile height about 0.5–1 mm more than the gap. See our pile height guide.
02What does the centre fin do?
A thin plastic fin inside the pile blocks air and water better than pile alone; finned pile is the usual choice for exterior sliding windows.
03Do you have self-adhesive brush seals?
Yes, for retrofitting doors and frames without a groove.
04How is it priced?
Pile seals are quoted by base width and pile height. Send your sizes and quantity for a price.
01Which door bottom seal for an interior door?
A self-adhesive silicone sweep is the quickest fit; if the door has a groove in its bottom edge, a slot-type TPE strip is neater and lasts longer.
02Do you make garage door bottom seals?
Yes – PVC and EPDM bottom seals for sectional and roll-up doors, and floor-mounted thresholds. Tell us the retainer type and door width.
03Can you cut to length?
Yes. We can supply rolls or cut lengths for your door widths.
04Price and minimum order?
No minimum – from 10 m. Indicative FOB prices start from US$0.06 per metre.
01How do I choose a shower seal?
Note where it goes (between two doors, against a wall, along the floor), the glass thickness and the gap. See our shower door seal types guide.
02Which glass thickness do you cover?
6, 8, 10 and 12 mm are standard; tell us your glass if it is different.
03What is a shower water dam?
A bendable silicone strip stuck to the floor to keep water inside a walk-in shower or on a countertop.
04Price and minimum order?
No minimum – from 10 m. Indicative FOB prices start from US$0.15 per metre.
CUSTOM PARTS
Custom extruded & moulded rubber parts
Have a section in mind?
Dora can help with your enquiry.
01What do you need for a quotation?
A drawing or clear cross-section photo with key dimensions, the application, material or performance requirement (temperature, outdoor use, food contact, hardness), estimated quantity and packing needs.
02Is there a tooling fee?
For most custom profiles made from your drawing or dimensions, tooling and samples are free – you only pay the courier. Very complex parts may carry a sample fee on the first order, refunded on your repeat order.
03How long do samples take?
Sampling takes 7–10 days; mass production takes about 20 days per 40GP container.
04Can you match a sample I already have?
Yes. Post the sample or send clear photos of the cut end next to a ruler; we measure it and propose a profile.
FRIDGE & FREEZER
Fridge & freezer door gaskets
Have a section in mind?
Dora can help with your enquiry.
01How do I find the right fridge door gasket?
Pull back the gasket and check how it is fixed (push-in dart, screws or adhesive), then photograph the cut end or the corner next to a ruler. Send that photo with the door's outer size and the quantity.
02Why does a freezer gasket stop sealing?
The PVC hardens or tears with age and cleaning, and the bellows flattens, so the magnet no longer pulls it fully onto the cabinet. Ice build-up near the door is the usual sign.
03Can you match an old gasket?
Yes – from a photo of the section with a ruler, a short sample or a drawing. Tell us the fixing type and the door size.
04What is the minimum order?
No minimum – from 10 m. Gaskets are quoted by section and size.
01Mono or cross filament tape?
Mono-directional is stronger along the length – for bundling and strapping. Cross / bi-directional also resists tearing across – for heavy or irregular cartons.
02Can I order filament tape with sealing strips?
Yes, it can be added to a seal order and shipped in the same container.
03How is it priced?
Filament tape is quoted by width, roll length and quantity.
